Ah… Falling into Fall
Isn’t Thanksgiving grand? What a tremendous holiday. No gifts to buy — just straight up gluttony and time with friends and family. “Drunken Pumpkin,” created at the bar at Commander’s Palace, puts you in the perfect frame of mind for the holidays and the Fall. Relax – chill, for crying out loud. It will all be there when you go back on Monday. Try this cocktail. Sometimes drinks of this sort can be too sweet or just coat the palate a bit too much for me to want more than one. But this one passes my test… I wanted a second one. Perfect balance. Lu will be proud.
The Fall and holiday season for my family is punctuated by most of the family’s birthdays in November and December. Mom will be 84 the day after Thanksgiving. Now, she would tell you that all these family birthdays trace back to 9 months after Mardi Gras. That, however, is a whole other story!
