A heartfelt thank you to all of you who read this and left your remarks. I'm glad what I wrote inspired or touched you in some way. (Even Tyrone.) I would love to know what cocktails some of you created in honor of your fathers! It's funny, but when I told my mother about my latest blog, her immediate response was, "Wekk what drink would you create for me?!" Oh Mom... Anyway, I promised her it would be pink in color, with a champagne base and a Norwegian twist! Jah, skal! Guess I better get busy in the Tiki bar... Mother's Day is in ten months. Aloha to you all.

Having had the honor and pleasure of knowing your Father, Kari, I would say he would be elated to tug you by the hand to a lofty hilltop in the Santa Monica mountains (with his silvery locks blowing in the wind, of course) and after finding a repose to prepare himself for acceptance of your Father's Day gift he would sip and savor your concoction with its intricately woven and meaningful ingredients. After a pause, memories of past would flood through his mind and a deep connection would be wrought between you.
A very open and heartfelt article, Kari.

Yay! A Kari Blog! Thanks for reminding us to listen. In our house most of the best stories came out over cocktails. On your suggestion, working on a cocktail in honor of my Dad. Gonna start with the story of how he got is nickname "Pink" and work from there.

Once again I find myself in the enlightened presence of Tiki aficionado and raconteur Kari Hendler!
Taking her wise sage to heart, I read this blog to my son, hoping to inspire him to create a new drink in my honor for my tiki bar...
This being my first Father's Day, he offered me some of his breast milk.
At least he named it for me - "The Third Boob"
