Berry's recipe for the Zombie really is the closest you'll get to that old-fashioned, 1930's flavor without spending a ton of cash. Nice video :)

PolishPrince: There are actually many Tiki drinks that are NOT overly sweet! Unfortunately, a lot of people have only experienced s0-called Tiki cocktails mixed by people who don't know the history or what they are doing. Just because you mix rum with fruit juice doesn't make it a Tiki drink! They are often quite sophisticated, with exotic undercurrents, as shown in the Zombie video with Beachbum Berry. I hope this piques your interest into this style of cocktailing!

The Bum will also enthusiastically agree that, at wintry holiday time, two other ingredients in the Tiki repertoire also do yeoman service to the warm spicy tastes of the holidays...falernum (a sweet syrup from the tropics) and Allspice Dram (a sweet and spicy rum-based liqueur from the tropics) and they help meld the exotic Tiki party with good old rosy Christmas cheer!

More Bum I say! --Doc.

Thanks for warming me up and getting me in the "island" frame of mind. You've turned my Bah Humbug attitude into a spirited Rah Rumbug mood.
