Congratulations Ladies

Thank you for this wonderful treasury...the delicious, drinkable stuff of legends.

Civilized drinking goes back many generations in my family, with our own 'grand dames' as well.
Their legacy was passed to me the Thanksgiving i was 25 years old. My Mother took me to the old Piano Bar at the Lenox Hotel in Boston the week after Thanksgiving. We sat down to the long-gone sing-along of holiday classics, my Mother proceeded to order each of us a Crown Royal Manhattan. After my first delicious sip of this expertly made drink, I asked why this cocktail.
My Mother informed me that now that I was 25 I could finally fully appreciate a Manhattan.
But I wondered, I turned 25 several months ago, why did you wait til now to order me one? With out missing a beat she explained that one, no matter one's age, could enjoy a Manhattan until after Thanksgiving. (For the record, they can be enjoyed through Memorial Day.)I have concluded through my own research that she was right.
Please look for me the day after tomorrow at The Audobon Bar at the Arizona Inn. Guess what I will be sipping.

I give thanks this year for all of the remarkable women who taught each of us about the delicious things in life. I raise my glass to them all, and to you.
Cheers

This clan exudes a true joy for life and this site shows it! Whether for two or twenty, make a special cocktail and it's instantly memorable and great fun.
My friends now ask: "When is your next party?"
Thanks Cocktail Chicks!!

I think the Obama cocktail should be a take on the classic Black Russian. Instead of two parts vodka and one part Kalhua, it should be one part vodka and one part Starbucks coffee liqueur.

Ella and Dottie are adorable! And your site looks great. Congratulations! Now that the election is finally over and we have a new president elect, ya'll need to create a cocktail recipe in his honor. After two years of campaigning and the work that's ahead for him, I'm sure Obama could use a drink!
