  2. Perfect New Orleans Manhattan

    2 ounce Wood­ford Reserve bour­bon whiskey ½ ounce dry ver­mouth ½ ounce  sweet ver­mouth 2 dashes Angos­tura bit­ters 2 dashes Fee Bros orange bit­ters Com­bine all ingre­di­ents in a cock­tail shaker.  Stir until well chilled (approx­i­mately 20 turns).  Pour into rocks glass.  Gar­nish with a cherry, brandied if available.

    2 ounces blended or straight whiskey 1 ounce Ital­ian sweet ver­mouth 2 dashes Angos­tura bit­ters 1 maraschino cheery for gar­nish Pour all the ingre­di­ents over ice in a mix­ing glass and stir as you would a Mar­tini.  Strain into…

  5. The World In My Living Room – On TV & Otherwise

    I remem­ber being kept home from school to watch the men walk on the moon.  I remem­ber so much footage in New Orleans of Kennedy being shot – over and over – par­tic­u­larly when I was older and local DA Jim Gar­ri­son accused Clay Shaw of killing Pres­i­dent John F. Kennedy.
